Using Math Manipulatives in the Primary Classroom

All students need to develop mathematical practices such as solving problems, making connections, understanding multiple representations of mathematical ideas, communicating their thought processes, and justifying their reasoning. During this training, participants will learn how to develop their students using a variety of math manipulatives. Teachers will learn ways to promote discourse and foster a sense of mathematical community along with instructional strategies and ways to represent mathematical concepts and procedures.

During this training, participants will learn how to develop their students using a variety of math manipulatives. Teachers will learn ways to promote discourse and foster a sense of mathematical community along with instructional strategies and ways to represent mathematical concepts and procedures. 


Hands-On Fraction Interaction!

Engage students by using a variety of manipulatives to teach fractions, decimals and percents. During this training, participants will explore the concrete, representational and abstract instructional approach as well as promoting discourse in mathematics. Open to any educator that teaches grades 3-5 math concepts. Continued support available through Cyber Coaching.
